There is a new grassroots travel basketball program in the area and what a start it was for Team Southern Indiana.

In its first year under director Matt Denison, TSI opened with a bang going 6-0 to capture the championship title of the 17 & under division of the Indybball.com tournament.

After wins over Indy Magic and Indy Jazz, TSI downed the Indiana Blue Devils, the Eric Gordon All-Stars and then the Central Kentucky Storm 71-69 in the title game.

“There is no program truly focused on growing the game and players in Southern Indiana,” Denison said. “We want to help players accomplish two things: become stronger, more confident players at their school next season, and receive a college scholarship or financial assistance to obtain an education at the university level.”
