New Albany reeled off six straight victories last weekend en route to winning the Marion Shootout, a two-day, 32-team summer tournament for high school teams.

The Bulldogs cruised past Adams Central, Beech Grove and Marion in pool play on Saturday. In the tournament round, New Albany got past Delta and New Castle before knocking off Kokomo in the title game.

Both Donnie Hale and Chris Whitehead missed the semifinal and championship contests due to “minor injuries,” according to Bulldog coach Jim Shannon.
