The regular season has yet to begin, but Bloomington South, Indiana’s defending Class 4-A champion, is already receiving attention on the national scene.

In preseason rankings by several national publications, South has been ranked as the No. 5 (Sporting News Magazine/Rivals.com), No. 6 (MaxPreps), No. 10 (ESPNRise) and No. 11 (USA Today) boys’ basketball team in the country.

USA Today also lists South as No. 3 in the Midwest, one of just two Indiana schools to make the rankings. Indianapolis North Central was No. 10 in the Midwest, but not in the national top 25.
