Austin senior Ben Raichel has been a key cog in the Eagles’ success thus far in the 2009-10 season.
Last week, the 6-foot-1 guard netted his 146th career three-pointer, passing Austin legend Anthony Winchester (145) to set a new school record.
Raichel has also been attracting the attention of a handful of small-college programs, most notably Franklin and Earlham.
Both schools have made the trip to watch Austin in action, and Raichel has a campus visit scheduled next month to the Earlham campus.

New Albany’s Tate Rohlfing has yet to decide if he wants to continue his basketball career at the college level.
But the senior guard has a host of schools interested in his service.
Three Division I schools — Army, Evansville and Yale — have contacted Rohlfing in recent months. And a handful of Division II and III schools, such as locals Southern Indiana, DePauw, Manchester, Rose-Hulman and Wabash, continue to show interest.
From his overall athleticism to his knack for shooting, Rohlfing, with his long and lanky body, possess many traits that college coaches love to see.

Jeffersonville’s Darryl Baker sustained a season-ending injury last month during a pre-season practice, but the list of colleges eying the budding star continues to grow.
The freshman has already taken unofficial campus visits to Michigan State and Ohio State, and he’s twice been a guest in Bloomington for Indiana’s ‘elite camp’ for potential recruits.
And Baker will be the guest of Butler University this weekend, where he’ll take in the Butler-Ohio State game on Saturday afternoon.
Baker was diagnosed in late November with a broken knee cap, although doctors told the family no tendon, ligament or joint damage occurred.
“He’s handled the injury like a man,” said Theo Moore, the player’s uncle. “He’s trying to eat right, trying to make sure that when he starts rehab he’s in the best possible shape considering the circumstances. He’s anxious to get back going.”
Baker, who is receiving letters and questionnaires from colleges across the country, is definitely out for the entire high school season but hopes to return late in the spring for AAU.

Darryl Baker, Jeffersonville’s often touted freshman, suffered a major setback Tuesday in practice.
The 6-foot-2 guard broke a bone in his right leg and is out indefinitely, according to Red Devil coach Tim LaGrange.
“(Baker) basically went up to catch an alley-oop and another player went up to contest it,” LaGrange explained. “(The other player’s foot) hit (Baker’s) leg just below the knee cap. It wasn’t a major collision at all. It had to be like the perfect storm. It really was a freak thing.”
Baker, who was set to undergo surgery Thursday, will miss a considerable amount — if not all — of the 2009-10 high school season.
“There’s no definite word on his likelihood to return,” LaGrange said. “I can say with all probability that it’s very doubtful (he’ll return this season). “We’ve had really good practices and I’m heartbroken for Darryl. He worked so hard and had a great attitude.”
