Kentucky HoopFestSouthern Indiana results and highlights from the final day of the 2009 Kentucky HoopFest:

  • Washington’s Cody Zeller totaled 26 points, but Indiana Elite One Orange fell 65-63 to Team Takeover (Canada) in 16 and under gold bracket play.
  • Bloomington South’s Spencer Turner, who plays with Indiana Elite One Orange, received his first scholarship offer this weekend — IPFW.
  • Team Takeover (Canada) edged Indiana Elite Team Indiana 74-64 to win the 16 and under gold bracket championship. Team Indiana features Bloomington South’s Darwin Davis (16 points), Edgewood’s Levi Garner and Evansville Memorial’s Michael Nesbitt.
  • The Nebraska Bison Select routed Team Southern Indiana 2012 78-57 in a 15 and under bronze semifinal. In the loss, Scottsburg’s Max Clemons netted 20 points and Switzerland County’s Keegan Kincaid chipped in 15.
  • The Louisville-based Derek Smith All-Stars 16 and under were eliminated in the silver bracket championship by the Michigan Mustangs, 66-63. Jeffersonville’s Evan Maschmeyer contributed 10 in the loss.
  • Team Southern Indiana’s four high school teams (2010 Red, 2010 White, 2011 and 2012) will travel to Indianapolis tomorrow for the Best of the Midwest tournament.
