Grenadiers get 76-52 win at St. Mary-of-the-Woods

TERRE HAUTE — Ten different Grenadiers scored as IU Southeast earned a 76-52 victory at St. Mary-of-the-Woods in Terre Haute on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Jared Osborne (Mt. Washington, Ky.) had 18 points to lead three Grenadiers in double figures. IU Southeast (3-9) shot just 40.5 percent (30 of 74) but held the Pomeroys to 21 of 64 (32.8 percent). SMWC (1-10) made just 4 of its 19 3-point attempts (21.1 percent) in the loss.

Junior Glenn Hill Jr. (Louisville) added 12 points and freshman Gabriel Casillas Cruz (Virginia, P.R.) finished with 10 for IU Southeast, which led 40-20 at the half. Led by 8 points form freshman Richard Lang (Indianapolis) and 7 from sophomore Jathan Ritter (Bedford), the Grenadier bench outscored St. Mary 29-15. Clarksville’s Jaren Starks had 5 points off the IU Southeast bench.

Freshman Jadyn McHugh (Evansville) had a team-best 15 points for the Pomeroys, who have lost 10 straight since opening the season with a 2-point win over Goshen College.

IU Southeast (3-9) will travel to Georgetown College (Ky.) for a 7 p.m. tip on Tuesday. The Tigers are 8-2 following Saturday’s 79-70 loss to Freed-Hardeman.
