Coleman, Wolfpack win third straight

RENO, Nev. — Former Jeffersonville star Tre Coleman had 5 points, 4 rebounds and a steal and his Nevada Wolfpack won their third straight game, 79-66 over visiting Pepperdine on Tuesday.

Coleman went 2 for 8 from the floor and made one of his four 3-point attempts in the win. The Wolfpack got a huge performance from junior guard Grant Sherfield, who put up 24 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds. Senior guard Desmond Cambridge Jr. added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Nevada held the Waves (2-7) to 33.8 percent shooting (24 of 71) and forced 15 turnovers.

Pepperdine’s top scorer was freshman guard Mike Mitchell Jr. with 12 points.

The Wolfpack will look to go above .500 for the first time since their 1-0 star when they host Minnesota-Duluth next Wednesday at 10 p.m. local time.
