Hanover rebounds to beat Quakers, 85-75

HANOVER — Hanover continues to control the Heartland Conference race, knocking off Earlham 85-75 Saturday to maintain its 2-game lead on Anderson with four conference games to play.

Hanover is now 10-0 at home. The Panthers are 16-3 overall and 12-2 in HCAC play.

Sophomores Matt Munoz and Max Greenamoyer combined for 61 points in Saturday’s victory. Munoz (Indianapolis/Southport) had a huge night with 33 points and seven rebounds. He went 14 for 20 from the field and made his only 3-point attempt. Greenamoyer (Zionsville/University) finished with 28 points and four rebounds before fouling out.

Senior guard Isaac Hibbard (New Albany) contributed seven points, eight rebounds and seven assists to the win, while senior guard Noah Williams (Jeffersonville/Christian Academy) scored nine points off the Panther bench.

Freshman guard Kolden Vanlandingham (Richmond/Northeastern) and senior guard Tommy Makabu (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) combined for 54 points and 18 rebounds for the Quakers, who drops to 8-10 overall and 4-7 in league play. Vanlandingham had a team-best 31 points to go along with eight boards.

The Panthers host rival Franklin (9-12, 5-0) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The Grizzlies will enter the contest with three consecutive losses.
