LOGAN, Utah — Former Jeffersonville star Tre Coleman had one of his best overall performances of the season and his Nevada Wolf Pack scored an 85-74 Mountain West road win Friday evening at Utah State.

Coleman struggled from the field, going 3 for 9 overall and missing both of his 3-point attempts, but he finished with seven points and had four rebounds, two assists and two steals as the Wolf Pack snapped a 6-game losing streak to improve to 10-13 overall and 4-8 in the MWC.

Senior guard Desmond Cambridge and junior guard Grant Sherfield combined for 51 points in the win. Cambridge had team bests of 27 points and nine rebounds, while Sherfield — the team’s top scorer on the season at 17.9 points per game — finished with 24 points, five assists and three rebounds.

Utah State senior forward Brandon Horvath had a big night with 29 points and eight boards in defeat. The Aggies have lost two in a row following a 5-game winning streak. They’re now 15-11 overall and 6-7 in conference play.

The Wolf Pack will try to start a winning streak Wednesday when they host San Jose State, which is 7-16 overall, is winless in the Moutain West and has lost 12 games in a row against Division I opponents. Tipoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. and will air on FS1. It’s the first of back-to-back game against the Spartans.
