HIGH POINT, N.C. — William & Mary freshman Langdon Hatton had four points, three rebounds and a steal off the Tribe bench but it wasn’t enough in a 77-59 loss to Georgia State in the first game of the Legends Classic at High Point.

Hatton, a North Harrison graduate, went 2-for-5 from the floor and pulled down two offensive boards for the Tribe, who have dropped their first four games.

With William & Mary trailing 41-19, Hatton scored his first basket with 3:15 remaining in the first half. With 12:25 left to go in the game, Hatton rebounded his own miss for his second bucket. That pulled the Tribe to within 62-42.

Georgia State senior guard Kane Wiliams led all scorers with 23 points. He also had nine rebounds and six assists as the Panthers improved to 3-1 on the season.

Wililam & Mary, which got 16 points fro sophomore guard Connor Kochera and 14 from sophomore forward Ben Wight, hopes to get win No. 1 today when they face Howard (3-2) at 5 p.m. back at Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena. Hatton and the Tribe can be seen on ESPN Plus.
