FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Unbeaten and 20th-ranked Colorado State pulled away from Jake Heidbreder and the Air Force Falcons in a 67-59 Mountain West Conference victory on Tuesday at Moby Arena.

Heidbreder, a freshman from Floyd Central and the Falcons’ second-leading scorer, finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds and an assist in the defeat. He went 5 for 12 from the field and made 2 of his 6 3-point attempts.

Air Force (8-5 overall, 1-1 MWC) trailed 33-28 at the half, but a 3-pointer by junior guard Carter Murphy tied the game at 48-apiece with 10:58 left. The Falcons were within 2 at 54-52 on a layup by freshman guard Ethan Taylor with 7:22 remaining.

The Rams countered with a 13-7 run to close out their 11th victory of the season.

Taylor led the Falcons with 19 points. Murphy, who came into the game averaging 3.8 points per game, finished with 13 and Heidbreder and junior guard Camden Vander Zwaag scored 12 each.

Junior guards David Roddy and Isaiah Stevens — Colorado State’s top two scorers — combined for 28 points in the win. Steven led the Rams with 15 points and Robby contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds to the victory.

The Falcons are back in action Saturday when they host UNLV (8-6, 0-1) at 10 p.m. That game can be seen on CBS Sports Network.
