Grenadiers beat Pioneers for third straight win

NEW ALBANY — IU Southeast shot 54.8 percent from the field and blew out visiting Point Park 96-72 at home on Friday evening.

Six different Grenadiers scored in double figures, led by sophomore guard Ahmad Price (Louisville/Valley) and senior guard Jathan Ritter (Bedford/BNL) with 15 points apiece. Price also had nine assists, five rebounds and three steals. Junior guard Glenn Hill Jr. (Louisville/Southern) scored 14 points in 14 minutes, senior guard Jared Osborne (Mt. Washington, Ky./Bullitt East) added 13, while junior guard Anthony Wales Jr. (Louisville/Valley) and Jaren Starks (Clarksville) scored 11 each.

IU Souteast is now 9-14 overall and 6-5 in the River States Conference.

Point Park (9-10, 4-7 RSC), which trailed 45-27 at the half, has lost five of its last six games. The Pioneers were led by 18 points from senior guard Jesse Calloway.

The Grenadiers will look for their fourth straight win Saturday when they host Carlow (4-17, 1-9) at 1 p.m. Saturday. Point Park is 1-6 in January.
