YPSILANTI, Mich.Kooper Jacobi and the Toledo Rockets won for the ninth straight time Tuesday, going on the road and knocking off Eastern Michigan 86-66 at the Convocation Center.

The Rockets are now 18-4 overall and 10-1 in the Mid-American Conference, a full game ahead of second-place Ohio (17-3, 8-1).

Jacobi, a freshman who led Silver Creek to a pair of state championships, wasn’t much of a factor in his 13 minutes Tuesday. In fact, Toledo got just three points from its bench in the win. He went 0 for 3 from the field and finished with two rebounds. However, four Rockets scored in double figures, led by junior forward JT Shumate’s 24 and sophomore guard Ryan Rollins’ 19. Rollins also had seven rebounds and two assists.

The Rockets and Eagles were tied at 16 because Toledo went on a 29-19 run the rest of the half to take a 45-35 halftime lead. The second half was all Rockets. They led by as many as 24 at 74-50 with 6:54 remaining.

Freshman guard Noah Farrakhan paced the Eagles with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Toledo visits Indiana this weekend when it goes to Muncie face Ball State. The Cardinals are 10-10 after winning their last three games. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN Plus.
