Fleming’s big night leads to Knights’ A-Sun road win

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Senior guard CJ Fleming had his best scoring output of his career Wednesday night at North Florida.

Fleming’s 25-point outing helped Bellarmine snap a 2-game losing streak with a 73-70 win at North Florida’s UNF Arena.

Fleming, a Cincinnati native, went 10 for 20 from the field and added three rebounds in the win.

The Knights scored 48 points in the first half and led by 19 the break. They then had to hold off the Ospreys, who outscored Bellarmine 41-25 in the second half.

Senior forward Ethan Claycomb (Vincennes/Lincoln) added 13 points and junior forward Sam DeVault (Evansville/Memorial) scored 12 off the Bellarmine bench. Former Providence standout Juston Betz finished with four points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists for the Knights (14-11, 8-3 A-Sun), who now trail Jacksonville State (16-8, 9-2) by a game in the Atlantic Sun West.

Bellarmine continues its road trip down South with a trip to North Alabama (9-15, 2-9), which has lost five of its last six games, on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN Plus.
